Risk glided through the forest on soft paws. She was speeding through the trees like a cheetah, but making no sound. Behind her, brother Chance ran also, but rougher looking and louder. Last of all, Hope struggled to keep up, panting hard and leaping weakly.
As Risk rounded on the bank of Minnow Creek, she slowed to a stop to let the others catch their breath.
"Are you alright, Hope?" she asked disinterestedly. "I-I-I" she took a deep breath. "I'm fine," he replied, still panting.
Chance looked at Hope disapprovingly and made his way toward the creek. He lapped up a mouthful of water and sat down on the edge. "We weren't running for very long," he said with an annoyed tone of voice. "You should be fine."
"Well I'm the youngest!" she protested. "By four minutes," he replied smugly.
"Will you all stop?" Chided Risk. She went back to grooming herself. "We'll get moving again before nightfall. We need to find the clans quickly and hide before they find us. If we can do it right, they won't know what hit them."

A lean, Grey-blue form was perched lazily in a tree above the three siblings, watching them with sharp golden eyes and a nonchalant flicker of her tail and ears. Hmph, youngsters. She grinned, knowing she wasn't that old herself and allowed herself an amused burble as she stood, gently shaking the branch she was on as she descended from the tree.
"Seems you three have someplace to be, and in a bit of a rush to get there no?"
Her voice was soft, friendly, but also edged as she set eyes on Risk, then Hope and finally Chance. A smirk passed her muzzle but it was gone as quickly as it appeared.
"They won't be easy to take down, let alone infiltrate, are you sure you three know what you're getting into?"
A tilt of her head and a pass of her eyes over the three was all that changed as she finally tucked her tail about her dainty paws. Were they insane? This was the life, wild and free and with no code to have to follow. Why would they want a proverbial leash?

OOC: Although they sound and act young, they are actually full grown. XD
--------------------
Risk's eyes and ears darted toward the source of the twinkling voice. There was a striking, lean she-cat tucked safely in the crook of a tree-branch. Risk spat angrily, and hissed, "Of course we know what we're getting into!"
The other two had only just noticed her presence, and were startled by their sister's outburst. They rounded on the other cat though, glaring and hissing up at her. "By what means is it your business?" growled Chance, twitching his tail angrily. He struck an intimidating figure, with his angular jaw and crooked tail.
Hope was slightly less than striking, with her fearful stance. She hissed and spat with the best of them, though, and tried her best to hide her insecurities. Seeing this, Chance blocked her slightly from view and spat back up at the she-cat. "What are you doing here?" he demanded.

Claypso didn't look phased too much by the show of hostility, she had expected it. How was it her business, frankly it wasn't, but if they wanted to be harebrained, let them.
"Never said it was. Also, hiss and spit all you like, i'm not being hostile, so really, there's no reason for me to receive it from you three."
Her voice was level, and the same as it had been since she reached the forest floor. Shaking her head she stood and looked off toward the way she knew the clans would be.
"Just know there are an awful lot of them, i'm Calypso by the way...Don't say I didn't warn you."
And with that she set off down the path, toward SeaClan, her grey-blue tail held high and wavering ever so slightly.

The three cats hissed angrily as she turned and left. This was, of course, their territory, so her presence at all was hostile.
Once she was out of sight, Risk looked at the other two. "We should probably re-scent our borders before we move out. Obviously they aren't strong enough." Risk, Chance, and Hope split up, following different trails along their territory. Risk followed the main path through the forest, Hope followed the longest trail around the entire territory, and Chance slipped off in secret, following the she-cat.
He trotted silently and rapidly through the brush, being careful to stay hidden from anything that could be watching. Eventually, he saw the other cat ahead, and to warn her of his presence, he stood in the wind and trod on a twig to snap it loudly.

Calypso turned her head ever so slightly, hearing the Tom snap a twig after she scented him. Well, she was past their borders by now...so what was it he wanted? She turned, tail swaying behind her, sharp gold eyes on Chance.
"Well, followed me did you...now the question is, why? To fight me? Or was it something else?"
Her voice was light, melodious and held a lilt to it that made you wonder what, if anything, she took seriously. Her grey blue fur caught the light that spilled through the leaves and mottled it with lighter and darker hues. She waited patiently though, never taking her eyes off of Chance, since she didn't know his motives for tailing her.

He purred quietly to himself, happy that she hadn't received him badly. "I'm simply curious," he said in his low, graveled voice. He advanced very slowly, making sure to keep a respectful distance. "What do you know about the clans, and why warn us?" he asked quietly. His tone was gentle and light, and his clear eyes held no show of his intentions. He starved for any interaction at all with a cat other than his sisters.

Calypso purred in response and walked over to Chance, sitting down beside him. Tilting her head she watched him and then smiled gently. Why warn them? Why not?
"I warned you because only three cats will not overturn the clans. I know enough about them, my mother used to be a clan cat, before she mated with a rogue and had me. They're really very organized she said, and all loyal to each other and their leaders."
She watched him again, ears flickering.
"Of course, this is all hear-say that I got as a young kit from my mother before the dog killed her. But, you and your sisters, I never want to know I didn't help when I could have."
With that she stood and headed off again, her tail in the air, beckoning him to follow if he so chose as she headed for the cliffs that over looked the sea.
