(I still need a Mentor for him if anyone's interested ^^) Viperpaw was stretched out in a clearing, soaking up some of the scant sunlight with his dark tabby pelt while trying to ignore the cold breezes that blew through the camp. His long, lithe body revealed toned muscles, and his plume tail, which he kept groomed and in pristine condition, lay out behind him on the hard dirt ground.
He sank his long front claws into the earth and pulled, letting out a loud, luxurious yawn. He was bored. Totally, completely bored. And looking for something to do.
Where is everybody? He thought irritably, looking around for signs of his Clanmates. Wouldn't it be nice to have some company.
With a menacing grin he rolled onto his back, stretching some more, and wished with relish that some stupid young Apprentice or Kit would come up and bother him, just so he could have some fun.

(Oh my gosh that sounds lovely. I'm sure he'll be even more uppity about being the Leader's Apprentice. xD)

The beautiful she-cat stalked through the camp's entrance, irritation glowing in her crimson-like eyes as she moved forward. Her jaws were clamped around two plump birds, and as she passed her apprentice, she flicked her ears toward him and then toward the camp entrance in a matter of a few seconds, silently telling him to get over their before she ripped his tail fur off.
Rosestar spat out the two birds onto the fresh-kill pile before taking a few seconds to clean the feathers out of her fur, leaving one blue feather tucked behind her ear. Turning, she eyed her apprentice, resisting the urge to curl her lip. "Come on." She spoke as she passed him, lashing her tail. Her voice sounded cold, but then again, she always sounded cold.
The agile she-cat lunged upwards, pouncing on a short tree branch before peering down at her apprentice. "I have a little test for you, Viperpaw." She meowed, crouching and digging her sharp claws into the branch. "While hunting, I smelled a group of quails, just off the bend of the creek. Bring me two." She said with a small smile. "Be careful about every move you make." Rosestar glared down at Viperpaw, as if daring the young apprentice to decide to talk against her. "I'll be watching." She said with a cruel smile.

Viperpaw got a tingling chill in his pelt as his Mentor addressed him, which was not unusual when he interacted with the cold Leader of his Clan. He both respected and feared her, which made him respect her even more-- to him, most cats, even Warriors, were fools who were weak and easy to trick; but not Rosestar.
He got to his feet, totally forgetting the feeling of utter boredom, and dipped his head in response to the challenge.
"As you wish, Rosestar. I won't disappoint you." And I better not.
Without a backwards glance the Apprentice darted out of the clearing, heading towards the creek as his Mentor had instructed. Carefully, aware that at any moment he could be under Rosestar's scrutiny, he crept toward the sounds and smells of a group of the little birds.
He quickly came upon a scattering of feathers on the ground, which he sniffed momentarily. Definitely quail. He moved forward, using his best crouch, aware of every move his body made. Luckily, his dark pelt blended well with the shadows.
Suddenly, one of the birds up ahead (which he hadn't even seen yet) let out a screech of alarm. Viperpaw heard the small prey unfurl their wings and begin to take flight, but he was already into the brush where they had been gathered, and as a particularly unlucky bird tried to gain lift off of the ground he tore it from the sky and ended its life.
"Crap!" He spat, lashing his tail furiously. His fur was on end and his eyes darted back and forth. He hoped Rosestar hadn't seen his misfortune.

A lithe alabaster form was laid out on a rock, not far from where the young apprentice stood, slightly hidden by the bushes. She'd seen the quail, had thought about hunting them, but was too busy enjoying the last rays of sunlight slashing through the forest, so the birds had ignored her and kept about their birdy business. Seeing Viperpaw she grinned though and gave a rumbling laugh when they all fled, it amused her to watch the little scamp fail. He was too cocky, he needed it.
IceHeart rose to her dainty white paws and stretched, slinking off the rock and sat in full view of Vipepaw for a moment before trotting past him, sneering. "It's okay little Kit, you'll get it some moon." her voice was like frozen velvet, smooth, but cold. With that she headed back for camp, her tail disappearing into a clump of bushes after her.

Rosestar was crouched in the branches above Iceheart and Viperpaw, resisting the urge to sneer as she leaped down, landing gently on the ground in front. She gave a cold look tore the ripped up Quail. "Hmph. The Quail is a bit too torn up, but its fine." She said stiffly, lashing her white tail.
"Since you missed the other bird, your duty today is to go through the fresh-kill pile and pull out the rotten prey." She smiled coldly, knowing that the rotten ones smelled horrid and would stick to a cat's fur for a few hours, maybe even a day.

IceHeart looked back over her shoulder, watching her leader eye her apprentice's prey and lashed her alabaster tail for a moment before haring off for camp.
Within a few moments she was weaving her way into camp, the last rays of sun painting her white coat a brilliant gold as she strutted in. Looking about she flickered her ears and sighed, this was rather boring. Stifling a yawn she set out to find the Deputy to see if something could be done, if only to alleviate her boredom.

Viperpaw cursed to himself, but bowed his head to his Mentor anyway.
Stupid Iceheart, thinks she can act all cocky because she's a Warrior. The young tom had already been training for moons; sometime soon he would be given his full name himself. But not soon enough. And only if I can prove myself to Rosestar. Stupid quail! Stupid Iceheart!
"As you wish, Rosestar," he said quietly through gritted teeth. He proceeded to pick up the ruffled carcas in his mouth and trot back to camp, trying for all his best to give any cat who happened to look his way the most poisonous glare he could muster. Once at the freshkill pile he tossed the quail aside and started picking through the rest of the prey, his skin growing hot as he attracted the attention of his Clanmates passing by.
His nose finally found the most offensive smell, and he curled his lips, hissing with disdain. Gingerly he picked up the tail of a maggot-filled mouse and padded out of camp in order to bury it with the waste of the Clan.

IceHeart watched the darker tabby apprentice walk into the camp and sneered at him, poor thing, what a distasteful job for such a distasteful little tom. Turning her head she tried to seek out NightShade, the BlackClan Deputy to find something to do.
Her mind wandered, off to her own ambitions. Sooner or later she would find a way to overthrow NightShade, and become Deputy herself. Maybe a convenient accident? No, mayhaps she should just wait for natural selection. No, that wouldn't do either. IceHeart spat with irritation at her indecision and scanned the camp once more with her icy green eyes, tail lashing.

Rosestar watched with cruel crimson-like eyes while Viperpaw dug through the food. She could practically feel his embarresment peeling off the young apprentice. She tugged her tail around her paws, tilting her head as he hissed in disgust.
Her ears twitched as Iceheart spat out angrily. The white she-cat rose to her paws and turned to glare at Iceheart. "Why don't you go hunting?" She growled, staring down at the she-cat. "You can take who ever you enjoy."

Hawkstorm walked around the camp lazily. He headed for the kill pile to get something to eat. He picked a fat mole and sat down to eat it. After finishing it, Hawkstorm licked his paws clean. He looked around for some apprentice or kit to tease, or a she-cat to flirt with.

IceHeart snapped her head around to look at her leader and bit back an exasperated sigh. This would figure, now wouldn't it. Instead of being a petulant little kit she decided to decide who to take. Peering about camp she finally saw Hawkstorm and smirked, oh, now she could torture him.
"Of course Rosestar, I think i'll take Hawkstorm along with me if he'd like..."
Her voice was a velvety tone, nothing condescending, but she was clearly toying with an idea. With that she flounced over to Hawkstorm and sat before him, her icy emerald eyes bright and a devilishly sly grin painted on her muzzle.
"Care to come hunting with me?"
She asked, her white tail tucked neatly about her paws, head tilted to feign innocence. This was going to be quite fun.

Back from burying the cursed prey, Viperpaw slunk into the BlackClan camp and looked around. He saw Iceheart sitting with Hawkstorm not too far away, with Rosestar watching. His lip curled at the sight of the white Warrior-- of all the cats that irked him, she seemed to be climbing to the top of the list lately.
He knew he needed to make up for his shortcoming that day, even if it hadn't been his fault. Something had spooked the birds, and now that he thought about it, the Apprentice wouldn't have put it past Iceheart to have done something to sabotage his hunt when he was least expecting it.
Never trust anyone, he thought darkly. Every cat's only got their own best interests at heart.
"Rosestar," he meowed strongly, trotting up to his Mentor with renewed energy. He shook off his previous shame and replaced the feeling with something else-- determination.
"Do you have anything else for me to do?" He asked the white she-cat, assuring himself that even if he had to clean out the Elder's Den for a week before his Leader forgave him, he would get back into her favor somehow.

Rosestar's head snapped toward the small apprentice, and she eyed with cruel curiosity. She flicked her tail before raising her head, eying the sky and the sun. The white she-cat rose to her paws, glaring down at Viperpaw.
"Come," She said with a smirk before padding out of the camp, her white tail high in case he needed help finding his way through the thick foliage.
She walked gracefully, her crimson eyes locked on what's head, and only a few times, peered over her shoulder to see if the apprentice was still following. She stopped at the edge of a large bog on the edge of their territory, a rank smell coming from it. Rosestar smiled glancing at Viperpaw.
"The elders need new moss, and the only acceptable moss in our territory, is right there." She pointed her tail toward a large thick dense of moss growing on a tree in the middle of the rancid bog.
